Conservation Data Documentation

Description of Course

This three-hour, hands-on workshop is designed to give conservation practitioners the information and tools they need to document their spatial data in the geographic information system (GIS) environment. Emphasis will be placed on how ArcGIS can be used as a metadata authoring tool. At the conclusion of the workshop, students will have templates that they can take back to their offices and apply to conservation data documentation for other projects. To receive maximum benefit from the class, students should bring two of their own data sets (and any notes they have about its creation or modifications) to work with during class.
