Activities

This section of the Web site provides details about specific activities that will take place during the NOS Storm Surge Partnership Project.

• Data Collection and Observations – describes the acquisition of high resolution bathymetric, topographic, and airborne gravimetric data that will take place during the project, as well as the integration of ocean observation data and the development of a geographic information system (GIS) framework to support the project.
• Models – describes the development of a tidal model and a vertical datum transformation tool (VDatum) for the study area, in addition to the development of a state of the art storm surge model.
• Forecasting and Predictions – describes the testing of a prototype storm surge model that incorporates the data acquired and assembled during the project.
• Socioeconomic Analysis – discusses how socioeconomic impacts of information and tools developed during the project will be assessed.
