3-D Storm Surge Visualizations Disclaimer

Surge elevations are still water elevations above NGVD29 (mean sea level as determined in 1929) and do not include wave effects at the coastline. The maps depict the potential storm surge flooding due to various categories of hurricane, based on simulations of hundreds of hypothetical hurricanes using the NWS's SLOSH storm surge model. No single storm will cause this extent of flooding, but, depending on the actual track, some areas may experience the maximum shown here. Keep in mind that a threatening hurricane can change in intensity as it approaches you.
