discuss state-specific administration of the trust.
Ask Yourself “What Do These People Really Want to Know?”
Focus on participants’ own management issues and how the state’s
program addresses those issues.
How Did We Get Here?
It can be helpful in dispelling the impression that state programs are make-work
programs for bureaucrats by first discussing the problems that led to the
establishment of the state’s program, and the program’s evolution.
Put Participants to the Test
Discussing state programs provides many opportunities to engage participants.
Test their knowledge of the state program. Provide them with hypothetical
scenarios to apply the program.
