Objective

Provide technical assistance, including the development and dissemination of data and information, to coastal resource managers, emergency managers, and elected officials on an as-needed basis.

Description

Specific examples of technical assistance delivered in the past include the following: reviewing and commenting on technical and policy documents; development of text-based guidance and training materials and the dissemination of these materials individually, in workshops, or via the Internet; and attendance at, as well as organization and facilitation of, meetings and workshops of network partners.

Outcome

Improved ability of coastal communities to reduce the economic, social, and environmental impacts of coastal natural hazards.

CNMI Coastal Resources Management Office, Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency, Guam Coastal Management Program, Hawai‘i Coastal Zone Management Program, NOAA Coastal Services Center, NOAA National Weather Service, NOAA Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, and United States Geological Survey, among others.
