The NOAA Pacific Services Center (PSC) provides geospatial training and technical assistance to coastal resource managers throughout the Pacific Islands to increase the capacity of state and local governments. Courses are limited to coastal resource management professionals and their partners. Classes can be taught at the PSC training facility in Honolulu or can be brought to your organization. The cost is minimal for participants and host organizations. To learn more about our trainings, please contact our office.

  • Training
The Digital Coast is a complete information delivery system that serves data, tools, training, and examples of how data have been turned into useful information. Descriptions of technical and topical trainings are available through the Digital Coast. For more information and to view a complete list of trainings offered by the NOAA Coastal Services Center, visit NOAA's Digital Coast at www.csc.noaa.gov/digitalcoast/.

  • Technical Assistance
The Pacific Services Center provides a range of technical assistance options to customers in the region. Options include web-based presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and webinars; face-to-face training, presentations, and workshops; and access to community forums and other sources of information. Topics must focus on coastal management issues and creative solutions provided by geospatial technology. Please contact PSC's Geospatial Coordinator for further assistance.

  • Where Am I Going?
To help the local coastal and marine resource management community in the Pacific region better understand the benefits and uses of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, the NOAA Pacific Services Center offers "Where am I Going? A Manager's Guide to GPS." This document introduces GPS technology, illustrates the benefits it can provide, and discusses considerations for purchasing GPS equipment, while focusing attention on important factors specific to the U.S. Pacific Islands. To view the guide, visit www.csc.noaa.gov/psc//pubs/gps_guide_red.pdf.
