Geospatial Data
The NOAA Pacific Services Center (PSC) coordinates and collaborates with partners in the Pacific to acquire and distribute geospatial data that support effective coastal management in Hawai`i, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and American Samoa. Recent geospatial data development activities include the acquisition of high resolution imagery and elevation products, as well as the development of derivative products such as land cover and impervious surfaces, all of which can be viewed through the Digital Coast portal.
- Data
The Digital Coast is a complete information delivery system that serves data, tools, training, and examples of how data have been turned into useful information. Data holdings for the Pacific Region include imagery, elevation data, and Coastal-Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) land cover products. For more information and to view a complete list of data offered by the NOAA Coastal Services Center, visit NOAA's Digital Coast at www.csc.noaa.gov/digitalcoast/.
- Legislative Atlas
A selected body of marine-related legislation in Hawai`i was mapped by PSC and its partners and consolidated into the NOAA Legislative Atlas. For more information on NOAA's Legislative Atlas, visit www.csc.noaa.gov/legislativeatlas/.
- Hawai`i Spatial Data Implementation Plan
Hawai`i's Spatial Data Implementation Plan is a state and federal effort to identify local spatial data needs. PSC has supported the state's efforts by leading the development of the marine data chapter of the plan and organizing workshops of local professionals to discuss relevant data issues for inclusion.
