FY 2010 Full Funding Opportunity
This federal funding opportunity meets NOAA's mission goals to: 1) protect, restore and manage the use of coastal and ocean resources through ecosystems-based management, and 2) understand climate variability and change to enhance society's ability to plan and respond. The purpose for this financial assistance will support NOAA's goal by developing a well-informed citizenry involved in decision-making that positively impacts our coastal, marine and watershed ecosystems in the State of . This opportunity is a competitively-based grant that provides funding to assist in the development of new programs, encourage innovative partnerships among environmental education programs and support geographically targeted programs to advance environmental education efforts that complement national and state school requirements. The B-WET Program is an environmental education program that promotes locally relevant, experiential learning in the K-12 environment on priority topics, such understanding climate change, earth sciences and community resilience to hazards. Funded projects provide meaningful watershed educational experiences for students, related professional development for teachers, and support regional education and environmental priorities.

FY2008 Broad Agency Announcement (BAA)
The purpose of the BAA is to request proposals for special projects and programs associated with the Agency's strategic plan and mission goals, as well as to provide the general public with information and guidelines on how NOAA will select proposals and administer discretionary Federal assistance under this BAA. This BAA is a mechanism to encourage research, education and outreach, innovative projects, or sponsorships that are not addressed through our competitive discretionary programs. It is not a mechanism for awarding Congressionally directed funds.
NOTE: The BAA is not intended to circumvent the regular program competitions that are announced either through the Omnibus notice or individual notices.
