1990 to 1995 Georgetown County Change Analysis Data

The map below shows the 1990 to 1995 change analysis data. These data were analyzed according to the Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) protocol to determine land cover. The purpose of this classification is to improve the understanding of coastal uplands and wetlands, and their linkages with the distribution, abundance, and health of living marine resources.

Land cover classifications were conducted for the coast of South Carolina using remotely sensed imagery, primarily Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM), from 1990 and 1995. After the land cover had been classified and a ground truth accuracy assessment study had been conducted, the two classified images, in this case 1990 and 1995, were subtracted from each other creating a change analysis map. Areas that are dark gray or black are regions that exhibited no change over the study period. To view a more detailed description of the data, click here.
