| Case Study ![]() ArcExplorer is built with 32-bit MapObjects® technology. Therefore, to use ArcExplorer®, you must have Microsoft Windows 95/98 or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or later installed on your system. The tables below provide minimum and recommended system requirements for running ArcExplorer.
As with most Windows software, performance will improve with more memory and faster systems. Note for NT Users: ArcExplorer Version 1.1 requires both Service Pack 3 and administrator privileges. ArcExplorer Installation Instructions
Note: After ArcExplorer is installed on your computer, a full set of instructions for operating the software is located in the on-line help section of the program. Also, please see the licensing agreement that will be installed on your computer with the software. ArcExplorer Project Files
Seven ArcExplorer project files (found in the software/arcexplr directory) have been developed using the geographic information system (GIS) databases stored on this CD-ROM. These pre-made views combine the various North Carolina databases in an easy-to-use format for viewing and analyzing the data. These files can be accessed by starting the ArcExplorer software, and choosing the File Open option. For more instructions, please see on the on-line help files. The seven views are listed below:
