After surveying various publications of Friends of the Watershed, as
well as by directly asking questions of volunteers, the state coastal
program discovered that members had a variety of skills already.

It was noted during the process that they might need training on writing
in plain language. Many of their documents on other subjects seemed
too technical for the audience they wish to reach.
