Characterizing Your Audience

This portion of the audience characterization can provide a lot of guidance in how to structure a training program for them.

Cultural Characteristics

The group is predominantly white

Well educated, but lower income level i.e., recent college graduates without career tenure

Motivated by intrinisic values, not profit or other gain

Members enjoy activities such as fishing, hiking, canoeing, and mountain biking

They feel stressed — feel "the weight of the world"

The are somewhat fatalistic, believing that too many larger forces are fighting what they believe in

 

We can see that they can probably can handle more technical language than the general public, but may not connect with all members of their constituency because they are such a homogenous group.
