Ideas for the Next Issue

Many of the ideas for articles that appear in Coastal Services have come from your comments and suggestions. We are always looking for story ideas and would like to hear from you about the topics that are important to you, and your ideas for future stories.

The following are just a few of the subjects that our writers are researching for future editions of Coastal Services. Are these issues you would like to hear more about? Do you have successful or innovative programs or projects that relate to these areas?

  • Submerged Aquatic Vegetation: How are coastal resource managers meeting the challenges created by the differing needs of restoration efforts and the aquaculture industry? Are there examples of these two activities being mutually beneficial?
  • Threats to Working Ports: Can traditional shipping ports and the tourism industry successfully coexist along our cities' waterfronts? How are coastal resource managers balancing the needs of both industries?

If you have other ideas for articles, or topics for us to investigate, please let us know. Your input ensures that articles in Coastal Services are interesting and beneficial to you. We also would welcome your thoughts and feedback on this edition of Coastal Services.
