Ideas for the Next Issue

As the Coastal Services staff begins working on the May/June edition, thoughts are turning to outdoor activities. Many issues facing the coastal resource management community are related to outdoor and recreational activities. We would like your feedback on the following ideas for the next issue, and suggestions for future stories.

  • Golf Courses: How are coastal golf course locations determined? Are there environmentally friendly building practices, and innovative ways that managers can monitor course construction and pesticide use?

  • Mosquito Control: What are the environmental impacts of pesticides used in mosquito control programs? Are coastal resource managers looking at best management practices with regard to this issue?

  • Boater Discharge: How are states regulating and monitoring recreational boaters who may be discharging sewage into waterways? Are "No Discharge zones" being created, and are they working?

Are these topics relevant and of interest to you, or your agency? We need your ideas and input to ensure that the articles in Coastal Services are informative and pertinent to your needs and interests. Also, we would like your feedback on this edition of Coastal Services. Please let us know how we are doing.
