Many of the articles on Coastal Services come from your comments and suggestions. Your input is important to ensure that this magazine meets the needs of the coastal resource management community.
The Coastal Services staff is researching the following subjects and would like your feedback.
- Gated Communities: How are agencies meeting the demands fro both public access and privacy and security? Should private communities be able to request federal monies to complete projects, such as beach renourishment?
- Eco Tourism: How is this new form of economic development affecting the environment? Have new regulations been created in response to this industry?
- GIS Programs: Are geographic information systems (GIS) changing the way coastal resources are managed? How are states tailoring geospatial tools and technology to meet their individual needs?
If you find one of these topics of interest, or if your agency is currently dealing with one of these issues, please let us know. We would also like to hear your ideas fro stories, or issues that you would like to learn more about.
