Over the next year, Coastal Services will cover numerous coastal resource management programs and topics. What are the issues that you would like to read about?
Some of the problems our writers are looking at include the following:
Cruise Ships — These floating cities produce enormous volumes of waste. How is this impacting coastal resources? Have states taken action to regulate cruise ship pollution and environmental impacts?
Overuse — Our nation's coastal areas are attracting millions of visitors. What happens when the public's desire to use the resources becomes environmentally unsustainable? Are coastal managers keeping people from loving the resources to death?
Laying of Cable — Fiber-optic cable laid along our seafloors is imperative to the technology boom. Do we know what the ecological implications are? How are managers addressing this cutting-edge issue?
If your state or program is successfully addressing any of these topics, or you have other ideas for articles, we would like to hear from you. Your suggestions ensure that Coastal Services is timely and informative.
