Grant Project Summary:
Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality
Mississippi Coastal Information System
April 2003 to March 2004
Project Summary
The Mississippi Office of Geology developed a coastal information node
and Web site http://geology.deq.state.ms.us/coastal
to disseminate data gathered by this and other public institutions on
coastal resources and trends in coastal Mississippi. These data were
presented in both a node clearinghouse and a user-friendly, dynamic
Web GIS interface for use by coastal researchers, coastal planners and
citizens. This Coastal System provides the Office of Geology and its
partners a basis to expand and add.
