Hurricane Planning and Impact Assessment Reports

This site provides access to over 70 historical documents relating to various aspects of hurricanes, including planning and response, post-storm assessments, evacuation planning and studies, and general information. These documents are available in digital copy via this Web site.

Site Features

  • General Information reports focus on hurricane and coastal flooding preparedness strategies, building performance, hurricane mitigation, growth management, and evacuation behavior and attitudes, among other topics.
  • Hurricane Evacuation Studies typically include five related analyses focusing on hazards, behavioral, transportation/evacuation, sheltering, and population vulnerability.
  • Measured Storm Effects include an assortment of information on actual hurricane impact data, such as high water marks, storm damage surveys, and inland wind effects.
  • Post Storm Assessments include reports offering summaries of hurricane events, along with general observations and specific recommendations resulting from the analyses.
