  • Version 5.0.1, developed in 2005 and 2006
  • Information about how this version differs from SLAMM 4.1:
    • Marsh migration due to salinity changes within an estuary may now be modeled;
    • "Inland Shore," "Brackish Marsh," "Tall Spartina," and "Tidal Swamp" have been included as model categories;
    • SLAMM 5.0 provides sea level rise scenarios based on the latest IPCC findings (IPCC 2001).  Additionally, scenarios assuming fixed levels of sea level rise by the year 2100 may also be run;
    • New data examination tools are available to ensure that data quality is acceptable;
    • To model erosion in larger sites, maximum fetch is now calculated on a cell-by-cell basis rather than being input as a site characteristic.
