Topographic Change Mapping
Sample Results from LDART: Bin Method DifferencesBin Method Comparison | Bin Method Differences | Filled versus Nonfilled | Raw Point Data | GeoTiff Example | Elevation Contours The following images indicate differences in the output from LDART using different bin method options. The different colors within the images represent the degree of difference between the two elevation grids used to create the difference image. Yellow represents a difference less than 0.5 meters, and darker shades of red and green represent greater differences. The top image in the graphic below shows the difference between a grid created using the Minimum bin method option and a grid created using the Maximum bin method option. The bottom image shows the difference between a grid created using the Average bin method option and a grid created using the Smoothed bin method option. All grids were generated with the Filled option checked. View the "Bin Method Comparison" page to see the elevation images from which the difference images were created. The area shown is in the vicinity of Singleton Swash at the north end of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The data were collected during the October 1, 1997, LIDAR survey. The data were binned using a 2-meter cell size.
