The Point Converter is based on several programs developed by
the National Geodetic Survey and the United States Geological
Survey. This tool allows you to convert a set of tab, space, or
comma-delimited x, y, and z (or longitude, latitude, and
elevation) data points from many combinations of geographic
projections, and horizontal and vertical datums. The Point
Converter was designed primarily for users of Airborne
Topographic Mapper (ATM) LIDAR data to convert ground survey
data to the same system to which ATM data is referenced, namely
ITRF94 geographic longitudes and latitudes and WGS-84 (ITRF94)
ellipsoid elevations.
Instructions:
Format your data into 3 columns of x,y, and z values. If you
have no z values, append a 0 at the end of every x,y line. The z values are always assumed to
be in meters.
Paste these data into the text area entitled Paste Input Data
Here.
Select your input and output conversion parameters. This
conversion depends on your knowledge of the input data.
Click the Convert button at the bottom of the page. Your
converted data will appear in the text box entitled Copy
Output Data from Here.
