This sensor is operated by the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasedena, CA. AVIRIS has been flown on two aircraft platforms: a NASA ER-2 jet and the Twin Otter turboprop. This sensor collects 224 bands with wavelengths ranging from 400 to 2500 nanometers.
