Description

This change detection is being conducted with several Landsat TM images: path 23 rows 39 and 40 are complete; path 22 rows 39 and 40 are underway. A change detection product for the Mermentau River in the central Louisiana coast has already been completed. The study area encompasses an area of approximately one TM image extending from Cameron east to the western boundary of Vermillion Bay. Additional work in 1999 and 2000 will extend this area eastward towards New Orleans.

A descriptive summary of this data set is available in Portable Document Format (PDF). The summary includes a report of the dominant land cover changes, tabular summaries of the 1990 and 1996 land cover data sets, and a change matrix (or tabular summary) for the 1990-1996 change data set.
