Land Cover Analysis
Coastal Great Lakes Land Cover
For this project, the NOAA Coastal Services Center created land cover and change data for the Great Lakes region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) according to Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) standards. These data are the first coastal land cover information available region-wide for the Great Lakes since 1992. Project DataPeriodAll States: 1996 – 2001 – 2006 DescriptionThe land cover and land cover change analyses were conducted using Landsat Thematic Mapper and Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper satellite imagery. Products include land cover for 1996, 2001, 2006 and change products that compare the dates. As part of this project, data were also developed for a small area on the Canadian side of the Lake St. Clair watershed.
