CRS has recently discovered errors in the generation of some of these
products.  The turbidity images derived from the NOAA-9 and NOAA-11
satellites generally underestimate the actual reflectance values by
approximately 1%. NOAA-14 scenes can either overestimate or
underestimate the reflectance values by the same amount. These errors
were due to coding errors in the software used to generate the products
and faulty level 1b AVHRR data files.

The SST products for the NOAA-14 satellite can have errors up to +/- 1
degC also due to faulty level 1b data files.

These errors have been remedied and the data set has been reprocessed.
However the images in these subdirectories (sst and turbid) still
contain the older SST or turbidity files and thus should not be used
where accurate geophysical data is needed.
