increase your ability to find, utilize, manage, and disseminate
information and data from a variety of sources. This
module is intended to be a primer on information survival
skills. More in-depth information is contained in the
classroom-based components of this course.
This Web-based portion of the course
will provide you with the following:
The ability to more effectively use libraries as a
research tool.
Concepts for effective interviewing of subject matter
experts.
Instructions for mining information from Internet
resources.
Guidelines for assessing the quality of information.
A review of how to frame different types of questions.
An introduction to metadata concepts.
