All about Questions

Introduction

Your success as an interviewer is reliant upon your ability to ask the correct question at the correct time. Different questions work to evoke responses. A good idea is to brainstorm a list of questions first, then refine them afterwards.

Brainstorming a List of Questions

  • Usually our first question is too broad

ex. "How does the media affect the public's view of marine protected areas?"
  • It helps to focus questions

ex. "What are the roles of media in shaping the public's perception of marine protected areas in California?"
  • More specific questions

ex. "How much did the public rely on the press to make its decisions?"

ex. "How does the media portray marine protected areas?"
