Managing Information on Your Computer


Introduction

Information overload seems to depend not on the amount of information received, but on a person's ability to organize and manage the information. Why is information management important? There is a direct correlation between the ability of any organization or individual to accomplish any desired goal and the ability to find the right information at the right time.

No matter what type of information you have, or its format (paper, electronic, disc), it is essential to make sure the information is:

  • Retrievable
  • Secure
