Northwest Region: Willapa Bay, Washington 1995 SAV Data Set

This project was initiated by the Columbia River Estuary Study Task Force (CREST) with Oregon State University, Washington State Department of Natural Resources Nearshore Habitat Program, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the University of Washington Marine Affairs Program.

The geographic extent of the study area includes all of Willapa Bay on the southwest coast of Washington. Approximately 295 frames of 1:12,000 scale aerial photography cover the area. The baseline map of both seagrass and Spartina has been used with photography from multiple dates to examine the spread of Spartina.

The Center's role in this project included funding for aerial photography interpretation, technical assistance, and field validation.
