If there is no available parking in front of the building, additional parking is located on the left side of the building.

Important Information for Visitors, Guests, and New Hires

Visitors, guests, and new hires must stop at the Visitors' Center on Tidewater St. (right-hand side, look for the signs) and check in. They will ask your name and your destination ("NOAA Coastal Services Center"), and ask for the information listed below. We will have given the guards notice that we are expecting you.

Note: Any person intending to visit the NOAA Coastal Services Center who is not a U.S. citizen must notify the Center 60 days prior to the visit.

• Valid driver's license or government-issued picture ID.
• Proof of insurance and registration for vehicle.
• For rental cars, the rental car agreement and current registration.

Directions from the Charleston International Airport

1. Take I-526 East to I-26 East.
2. Take Exit 216B, COSGROVE AVE and NAVAL BASE.
3. At third traffic light, turn RIGHT onto SPRUILL AVE (apx. 2 Miles)
4. At the traffic light (where the Circle A convenient store on the right hand side), turn LEFT. This will put you on VIADUCT RD.
5. Stay in the right lane, curving to the right towards BAINBRIDGE AVE.
6. At the stop sign, take a LEFT, this will put you on BAINBRIDGE AVE.
7. Follow signs and take Right towards visitors Center. Once you have checked in
8. Take RIGHT back onto Bainbridge towards guard post.
9. Once through guard post, take LEFT onto HOLLAND, - at stop sign, take a RIGHT onto South Hobson. The NOAA Coastal Services Center will be the first building on the LEFT.

Directions from downtown Charleston

1. Take I-26 West.
2. Exit at Spruill Avenue (Exit #218).
3. Turn left at the light at the end of the exit ramp.
4. Turn right at the first light (Viaduct Road), then
5. Turn right at the first exit ramp.
6. Turn left at the stop sign, which will be Bainbridge Avenue.
7. Follow Bainbridge Avenue to Visitor Control Center (VCC) on the right.
8. Stop at the visitor center to obtain temporary vehicle and visitor’s badge.
9. Continue down Bainbridge to security gates.
10. Display vehicle pass in windshield and show guard your visitor’s badge.
11. Turn left onto Holland Ave.  Go to end of Holland.
12. Turn right back on to Hobson Avenue and the NOAA Coastal Services Center will be the first building on your left. Address is: 2234 South Hobson Avenue.
13. Parking is in front and to the left of the facility.  Enter building through front double doors on South Hobson Avenue.  Press buzzer for access.

Directions from Points North (Myrtle Beach, Georgetown)

1. Take US 17 South to I-26 West
2. Exit I-26 West at Spruill Avenue (Exit #218).
3. Turn left at the light at the end of the exit ramp.
4. Turn right at the first light (Viaduct Road), then
5. Turn right at the first exit ramp.
6. Turn left at the stop sign, which will be Bainbridge Avenue.

Directions from Points South ( Hilton Head, Savannah)

1. Take Hwy17 N to I-526 towards N.Charleston. Follow until you can merge to I-26 East towards Charleston
2. Take Exit 216B, the COSGROVE AVE and Federal Complex /NAVAL BASE exit
